We are proud of the heroes of the Fatherland
Heroes of the Fatherland… What images come to mind when you hear these words? It is believed that all these images have one thing in common: love for their homeland and a willingness to sacrifice oneself for it.
From the first princes uniting disparate tribes to astronauts conquering space, at every stage of our history there have been people who, through their courage, dedication, and loyalty, have set an example of true heroism. Let’s remember Alexander Nevsky. Prince of Novgorod, warrior, diplomat. Finally, the most striking example of heroism is the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
Compared to other participants, this war became a real test for our country. Millions of people died defending their homeland from the Nazi invaders. Whereas, they did not break or surrender, but continued to fight until the bitter end.
As a result, how many heroes there were in the war! But heroism isn’t just about performing feats in war or extreme situations. Heroism is also about everyday work, the honest fulfillment of one’s duties, and caring for loved ones and others. Heroism is the ability to remain human in any situation, to never lose faith in goodness and justice. But, unfortunately, in our time, the concept of heroism is often blurred. On television and online, we see very different «heroes» — the rich and famous, notorious for their scandals and outrageous behavior.
In conclusion, I would like to say that the heroes of the Fatherland are not only those who performed feats in war or in extreme situations. Heroes are also those who, every day, with their work, their care, their love, make our country better. And we must remember them, honor their memory, and follow their example. After all, it is thanks to them that Russia was, is, and will remain a great country.
