Modern advances in healthcare
Modern advances in healthcare mean there will be hardly any diseases in the future.
I completely agree with this statement because the technology is getting more and more modern recently. Over the past 50 years the technology in health care and treatment has advanced a lot, we’ve started to treat many mortal illnesses, for example some kinds of cancer, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes or a similarly debilitating illness. The research is progressing quickly on all these fronts, so I think that soon we’ll manage to control almost all of the diseases.
Nowadays there are many new and modern healthcare advances that make our life safer. I enumerate some of them:
⁃ Robotic surgery allows doctors to perform many types of complex procedures. Using robotic surgery, surgeons can perform delicate and complex procedures that may have been difficult or impossible with other methods.
⁃ Wireless brain sensors that monitor pressure and temperature inside the brain and then are absorbed by the body, excluding the need for surgery to remove the devices.
⁃ 3-D printing in healthcare makes it possible for medical professionals to provide patients with a new form of treatment in a number of ways. 3D printing is used for prosthetics and printed pills, that contain multiple drug as well as the creation of patient-specific replicas of bones, organs, and blood vessels.
⁃ Artificial organs are designed with the aid of 3-D printing to replace a natural organ, to duplicate or augment a specific function or functions so the patient may return to a normal life as soon as possible.
⁃ Virtual reality nowadays helps medical students to get close to real life experience while studying to operate by using technology. Also the VR devises serve as a great aid for patients in rehabilitation and recovery, help with diagnosis and treatment plans.
The problem of longevity and health improvement in the future is a very complex question. The longevity of the human race depends on many factors, but the question is does the longevity mean the improved health? Maybe we’ll add some dozen years to our lifetime but could we make it healthier we can’t predict. The ability to treat most serious illnesses does not mean living completely healthy. There are always some bad habits that are shorten our life, almost everywhere the ecology isn’t that good, there are many congenital pathology and also there are many other factors that could prevent us live longer despite all the healthcare technologies.
