Introduction
Love for the Motherland begins with love for your small homeland — the place where you were born. A small Homeland is the source, the beginning, from where a person takes a step into the big world.
From my native corner of the Siberian land begins my city of Nizhneudinsk, of which I am a citizen of the land.

Project objective
– expanding children’s knowledge about their hometown;
– familiarization with the history and culture of your hometown, local attractions
Tasks
-continue to acquaint children with the history of their hometown, with its sights;
-to cultivate love for the native city, its historical, the ability to see the beauty of the native city, to rejoice in it and cherish it.
Relevance.
Many moral qualities of a person are laid down in childhood, school years. The love of the native land, the desire to see the hometown, the country more and more growing and flourishing — all these feelings largely depend on how we perceive them in school years.
1.History in a few words
Founded by Krasnoyarsk Cossacks back in 1648, Nizhneudinsk, originally called Pokrovsky Town, is now considered one of the oldest cities in the Irkutsk region. The winter quarters formed by the Cossacks developed rapidly, receiving just a year after the foundation the new name Udinsky ostrozhek, and in 1664 the official status of the prison. The next century in the history of the settlement was not full of bright events, the prison slowly developed, expanding its borders and attracting new settlers. In 1783, it was granted the status of a county town, and almost 40 years later, in 1822, the status of a county town. Perhaps the most powerful leap in its development the city underwent at the end of the XIX century, when a railway line was laid near it. The laying of the railway, as well as the laying of the Moscow horse-drawn highway a century earlier, contributed to a strong influx of population and the development of the economy of the city and nearby settlements, which contributed to further education in 1924 Nizhneudinsky district with the center in Nizhneudinsk.
2.Nizhneudinsk today/ The sights of my city
Nizhneudinsk is located in an unusually picturesque place. On one side it is surrounded by the Sayan Ridge, on the other by the Uda River and dark coniferous forests. Nature is undoubtedly one of the main attractions of the city and its surroundings. Just 15 kilometers from the city there is one of the most famous waterfalls in Siberia – the Ukovsky Waterfall, whose waters descend into the stone gorge from a height of 18 meters. The man-made sights of Nizhneudinsk also deserve the attention of tourists. Lovers of informative pastime will appreciate the local museum of local lore, telling about the history of the city and the whole area. The museum presents a unique collection of photographs, objects and documents from the Great Patriotic War, telling about the life of the residents of the district in those difficult times. Several monuments and monuments of the city are dedicated to the same period, the most visited of which is the monument to the unknown soldier. There are always fresh flowers at its foot.
In 1969, in the Kirovsky district of the city, on M.I. Kalinin Square, at the intersection of Sovetskaya and Osoviakhimovskaya streets, a monument was erected to the soldiers of the Nizhneudinsky district who died in the Great Patriotic War. «A grieving mother supports a wounded warrior.» On May 6, 1971, the grand opening of the monument took place. The monument to the young Nizhneudinets Kesha Kuimov, secretary of the Komsomol organization of the school, who died during the Great Patriotic War, was installed near School No. 2. In 1941, Kesha graduated from 10 classes. Kesha, having attributed a year to himself, went to the front among the first volunteers, got into the Ulyanovsk tank school. In the battle, which turned out to be Kesha’s last, his tank was hit by a shell. (слайд 9)
The monument is dedicated to railway soldiers, participants of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers in gratitude from descendants. Installed on the forecourt in the year of the 100th anniversary of the VSZHD. (слайд 10)
St. Nicholas Church at Nizhneudinsk station was founded in 1907 on the site of the execution of railway workers during the October strike of 1905. It was built according to the project of the church operating at the Tomsk station. The temple was built on donations from workers with the support of the Emperor Alexander III Foundation. It was consecrated on February 1, 1908. In Soviet times, St. Nicholas Church remained active until 1936. A dining room was set up in the building. But already in 1947, at the request of the faithful, the building was returned to the Orthodox community, and on December 13, divine services resumed in the newly consecrated church.(слайд 11)
Conclusion.
We want to conclude from what has been said that my country is a multinational country. The Russian people are very hospitable people. They love and cherish their land, culture and language. Every resident of our city respects and loves his Homeland, is proud of his people, his achievements, loves his land and nature. Now, in our busy time, the residents of our city have not stayed away. Many of our brothers and fathers went to defend our homeland. We are proud of their courage and dedication. An hour of patriotism is held in our school, which does not allow us to forget the history of our heroic Homeland.
And we want to finish our project with the words of K. Simonov. «You remember a big country that you traveled and learned. You remember the Motherland as you saw it in your childhood.»
